Some Tips to Get Your Holiday Food to Your Destination Intact

Many people drive long distances to visit family during the holiday season. And a good portion of those people will probably be transporting some sort of holiday dish as well.

Transporting food safely over long distances can pose a significant challenge. It can be easy for your carefully crafted meal to wind up a ruined mess. Luckily there are some easy things you can do to help it arrive intact.

The first thing that you can do is to try to make sure that whatever container that you are transporting your food or goodies in has a lid that seals well. If you can tip it on its side and not have it spill out, then you should be good to go.

Try laying down some towels on the seat or floor just in case your dish does tip and there is a spill. Additionally, if you can line a cardboard box with the towel and set the dish inside of that, you'll be even better off. This helps quite a bit because you can actually use the seat belt to keep the box from moving, which is a huge help if you are on the road alone and don't have someone holding it while you drive.
